Volia Introduces Volia Absolute Unlimited Internet Package Based on DOCSIS 3.0 Standard for Private Subscribers

voliaThe Volia company, a telecommunications service provider, has introduced the Volia Absolute unlimited Internet package based on the DOCSIS 3.0 standard for private subscribers.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the company, the wording of which was made available to the agency.

Subscribers are offered access to the Internet at a speed of up to 150 Mbit/second.

The cost of the package, which includes the use of equipment, is UAH 199.9 a month (UAH 169.9 a month for subscribers to the Volia Premium TV service).

In order to able to receive the service a subscriber should purchase (lease) a special modem Thompson TSM 470 (the cost is UAH 489, the lease rate is UAH 19.9 a month).

The company has provided the packages on this standard to corporate subscribers.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Volia said in July 2010 it intended to introduce internet-access packages based on the DOCSIS 3.0 data-transfer protocol for private subscribers in September.

The Volia company provides analog cable television broadcasting services under the Volia Cable brand name, digital television broadcasting services under the Volia Premium TV brand name, and Internet access via cable networks under the Volia Broadband trademark.
