Ukrtelecom Begins Charging 5 Kopecks Per Minute For Calls Between Group Members In U’family

Ukrtelecom, the largest telecommunications company in Ukraine, will begin charging 5 kopecks per minute for telephone calls between members of a group under the U’family and Your Family tariff plans during roaming within Ukraine on February 1.

According to Ukrtelecom, charges will not be levies for such calls in the UMTS (3G) network.

At present, telephone calls between members of a group are free under the U’family 3, U’family 5, and Your Family tariff plans.

These tariff plans are not available to new subscribers.

Ukrtelecom provides roaming services within Ukraine jointly with the Kyivstar telecommunications company.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukrtelecom reported a loss of UAH 456.426 million for the year 2009, when its net revenues increased by UAH 225.202 million or 3.39% to UAH 6,870.931 million compared with 2008.
