So, Nokia, which traditionally has strong positions in the budget segment, managed to grab more than 50% of the mobile market, and LG trippled their sales during Q1-Q3 2009 period.
Of the 2.97 mln mobile phones sold in 9 months, 39% were budgetary models (up to $ 70), according to a report published by Unitrade Group. A year ago, they accounted for only 20%, but 9 months later the average cost of devices sold in the country, dropped from 191 dollars to 130 dollars while sales fell by 51.3% to 2.97 million phones in the amount of 386.1 million (-66.8%).
Today the champions among Ukrainian buyers are Nokia (53%), Samsung (23%), Sony Ericsson (12%).
