FreshTel To Spread WiMAX Network For 14-15 Cities In 2011

The Ukrainian High Technologies company, the FreshTel brand, intends to cover about 14-15 cities with WiMAX network in 2011, Olena Minich, the president of the company, told the Ukrainian News agency. Minich did not name the cities, however, she pointed out that it will be regional centers, and cities with population of up to 200,000 people. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in October, the National Communications Regulation Commission has provided the Ukrainian High Technologies company, which renders services under the brand of FreshTel, with a license for additional frequencies for radio-relay communication in 10 regions and Crimea until 2025. Ukrainian High Technologies is an operator of wireless communications services based on the WiMAX technology. The company's network in the 802.16d standard operates in the 3.4-3.6 giga-hertz frequency band. The company launched commercial operation of a new network based on the Mobile WiMAX technology (the IEEE 802.16e standard) under the FreshTel brand name in January 2010.

Ukrainian High Technologies company (TM FreshTel) added Darnitsky district of Kiev to its coverage area of wireless Internet network based on WiMAX technology , said the press service of the company. Since November 10, 2009 4G Internet is available within Poznyaky and Kharkivsky living areas. The operator also has added a few more base stations to improve the 4G network coverage. Earlier it was announced that before January 1, 2010 FreshTel network will be expanded to all districts of Kyiv, as well as to its suburbs.
