CDMA Ukraine launches commercial operation of 3G wireless Internet service in Sevastopol

International Telecommunication Company (ITC), the company that operates fixed-line telephone in the CDMA standard under the CDMA Ukraine brand name, has launched commercial operation of its third-generation (3G) wireless Internet service in Sevastopol from January 21.

Ukraine has 1, 038,242 CDMA subscribers

The number of CDMA subscribers in Ukraine at the end of October 2009 increased by 2.6% compared with September 2009 and amounted to 1, 038,242, according to a report by IKS-Consulting. So, in October, the largest CDMA mobile operator in Ukraine has become «Telesystems of Ukraine" (TM PeopleNet). The operator's subscriber base in October rose 4.18% to 383, 065 people, compared to September 2009. Intertelecom ranked he second with 3.09% growth of its subscriber base in October up to 10, 224 thousand of new net connections. Thus, the number of the operator's subscribers had grown to 340, 980 thousand. Subscriber growth of ITC company (TM CDMA Ukraine) amounted to 0.36%, or 1, 127 thousand of new net connections in October with a total 314,197 subscribers.

CDMA Ukraine offers unlimited mobile Internet for 65 hryvnia per month

CDMA Ukraine proposed a new tariff plan "Unlimited Internet" just for as many as 65 hryvnia per month. It should be stressed that it's really unlimited traffic without any hidden charges, but it's effective only for some Ukrainian regions. Unfortunately, no  voice calls and SMS are available. By now, "Unlimited Internet" is accessible only in Vinnitsa, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kherson, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Rivne, Transcarpathian, Kirovohrad, and Khmelnytsky regions. Unfortunately, it is a limited action (connectible only till December 31, 2009). The client can use Internet access only in the region of connection.

CDMA Ukraine connects to 3G without contract

CDMA Ukraine began selling pre-paid packages for its Internet3 service. Since today for using the Internet from 3G-CDMA Ukraine, it's not necessarily enter into a contract, it's suffice just to buy the starter pack at any point of sale. The set includes 3G-modem for connecting services, Quick start guide and CD-ROM with software. The initial balance on the account is 10 UAH. Easy activation, high-speed access (up to 3.1 Mbps) and affordable prices make the starter pack Internet3 of CDMA Ukraine the easiest and fastest way to connect to the Internet, both in the capital and in other regions of Ukraine, which operate a network covering CDMA Ukraine. There is no monthly fee for the service. The cost of 1 MB is 0,09 UAH. Sms sending within Ukraine is UAH 0,30. Starter Package + 3G-modem Sierra U595 equals to 411 UAH, while the Starter Package + 3G-modem Sierra U597  costs as much as 471 UAH. The Internet3 service is based on advanced technology EV-DO, which provides access speed up to 3,1 Mbps. To date, EV-DO CDMA network in Ukraine covers Kiev and a number of settlements of the Kiev region, as well as Lviv, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Berdychev and Lutsk. Speed access to data locations allows users to download music and videos, view streaming video (Youtube), and talk on Skype, not to mention the usual web surfing and email privacy.

For some democratic monthly payment of 33 hrivnas the new tariffs provide the users with the possibility to call free of charge within СDMA Ukraine network across all Ukraine as well as to fixed telephone numbers of the city they live in. Calls to other Ukrainian mobile carriers will cost as much as 0,6 hrivnas per a minute with connection rate of 0,19 hrivnas. SMS within Ukraine will cost 0,3 hrivnas. Existing СDMA Ukraine subscribers can change their tariff plan in favor of "33", keeping their present telephone number.
