Intertelecom Introduces SIP-Telephony Service For International Calls

CDMA operator Intertelecom has introduced SIP-telephony service for international calls, director general of the company Borys Akulov told the press. "In March, we introduced new service for our subscribers. SIP-telephony is Internet telephony with the database of 799,000 numbers and 8 million mobile numbers that allows our clients to use any number in any corner of the world," Akulov said. He said that the service is available at any place where Internet is available. He said that users pay only subscriber fee or payments for traffic excessive within the Internet plan. Therefore, clients pay not for international calls but for intercity ones. Akulov said that the service is suitable for businessmen and ordinary subscribers. He said that Intertelecom renders services in over 4,000 settlements of Ukraine. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Intertelecom was the first nationwide CDMA operator in Ukraine. It provides local and mobile telephone services in the CDMA standard as well as wireless internet access. Ukrainian citizen Viktor Hushan and Russian citizen Ilya Kazmaly founded Intertelecom.

PEOPLEnet Terminates 15 Tariffs

TeleSystems of Ukraine, a company providing CDMA mobile communications services under the PEOPLEnet trademark, terminates 15 tariffs from March 10, reads a statement made by the operator. In particular, they will put out of action the following tariffs: Maximum of Traffic, Unlimited Internet, Business Package, Standard Internet, VPN Business, Maximum of Words, Free Internet 40, Convenient Unlimited 40, INET Unlimited, Сorpinet+Voice, Business Online XXL, Business Online, Low End, Online Life XXL and Online Life. The tariffs are terminated since the operator switching over to a new system of billing the services it provides, as not much subscribers use these tariff plans. PEOPLEnet offers subscribers of these tariffs to change their tariff plans for some other active ones, or on March 11 the operator will make the change in its discretion. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the number of PEOPLEnet subscribers rose 8.2% or 45,956 to 608,433 in the fourth quarter of 2010. Forton Limited (Dnipropetrovsk) owns 24.99% of shares in the company, Elidor limited liability company(Dnipropetrovsk) owns 24.99% too, Epilmor Business Corp. (Panama) holds 18.09%, Bracelos Properties Corp. (Panama) 18.09% as well, while Grosulo Investment S.A. (Panama) holds 13.8% of shares.

Number Of Mobile-Telephone Operators’ Subscribers Down To 53.7 Million

In January, the number of subscribers of Ukrainian mobile-telephone operators fell by 0.6% or 0.32 million to 53.69 million. Ukrainian News has learned this from results of a research conducted by iKS-Consulting, a wording of which was made available to the agency. In particular, the combined number of subscribers to the services of Kyivstar and Beeline (Ukrainian Radiosystems and Golden Telecom companies) made up 24.33 million, the number of subscribers to MTS' services made up 18.21 million, and to the services of Astelit company (life:) brand) 9.02 million. The rest of subscribers belong to the biggest telecommunications company Ukrtelecom and three CDMA operators. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in December 2010, the number of subscribers of Ukrainian mobile-telephone operators fell by 0.5% to 54.01 million.

Intertelecom Switches Its Base Stations In Kyiv And Odesa To EVDO Rev.А

The Odesa-based Intertelecom company, an operator of fixed-line telephone in the CDMA standard, switched its base stations in Kyiv, Odesa, and the Odesa region to the third-generation EVDO Rev.А technology on February 8. Intertelecom announced this in a statement. This technology was previously tested on the base stations. The EVDO Rev.А technology allows wireless internet at speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps. EVDO (EVolution Data Only) is a third-generation mobile communications technology standardized by the Third Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2) as part of the CDMA2000 family of standards. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Intertelecom switched its base stations in Sevastopol to the third-generation EVDO Rev.А in December 2010. Intertelecom was the first nationwide CDMA operator in Ukraine. It provides local and mobile telephone services in the CDMA standard as well as wireless internet access. Intertelecom Introduces Four Tariff Plans

Intertelecom, a CDMA telephone communications operator based in Odesa, has introduced four tariff plans from February. Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the company. According to the statement, the tariff plan "Mobile Office+" provides a client with 25,000 minutes at 0 kopecks/minute for calls to local city numbers and 100 free minutes for calls to numbers of mobile communication operators, 100 SMS and 1,500 Mb of Internet traffic for UAH 89/month. The tariff plan "Megapolis+" provides a client with 5,000 minutes at 0 kopecks/minute for calls to local city numbers, 50 SMS and 1,000 Mb of Internet traffic for UAH 55/month. The tariff plan "Optimal" provides a client with 1,500 minutes at 0 kopecks/minute for calls to local city numbers for UAH 35/month. The tariff plan called "Freedom of Speech+" provides a client with 350 minutes at 0 kopecks/minute for calls to local city numbers for UAH 25/month. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the number of subscribers of Intertelecom, a CDMA telephone communications operator based in Odesa, rose by 11.5% or 52,027 to 506,296 subscribers in October-December, compared with July-September. Intertelecom is the first national CDMA operator to provide local and mobile CDMA communications and wireless internet access services in 21 regions of Ukraine. Intertelecom was founded by Ukrainian Viktor Bushan and Russian Ilya Kazmaly.

ITC Introduces «Advertising Number» Service Involving Management Of Incoming Calls

International Telecommunication Company (ITC), the company that operates fixed-line telephone in the CDMA standard under the CDMAua (former CDMA Ukraine) brand name, introduced a service called «Advertising Number,» which involves management of incoming telephone calls, on January 11. The service allows transfer of calls, filtering of calls based on time of day, playing of voice messages and music when waiting for a call, and reception of voice mail in e-mail, etc. ITC offers three types if this service depending on functions: «Advertising Number — Basic» (the subscription fee is UAH 18 per month), «Advertising Number — Standard» (UAH 54 per month), and «Advertising Number — Advanced» (UAH 145 per month). The company will offer this service free of charge until February 28. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, ITC provides local cellular communications services and wireless Internet service based on the latest third-generation technologies - CDMA 2000 1x in the 800 MHz band.

Intertelecom Begins Selling Sets For Mobile Internet Access

The Odesa-based Intertelecom company, an operator of fixed-line telephone in the CDMA standard, began selling a set called Lehko Startui for mobile access to the internet on December 14. Intertelecom announced this in a statement. The ser consists of a USD modem of the model Huawei EC 226 that supports the EVDO Rev A technology and a "3G Adrenalin" tariff plan. The set costs UAH 349. The set can be bought in ALLO, Komputernyi Vsesvit, and Vukho.com retail outlets. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the number of Intertelecom's subscribers increased by 7.1% to 454,269 in the third quarter. Intertelecom was the first nationwide CDMA operator in Ukraine. It provides local and mobile telephone services in the CDMA standard as well as wireless internet access.

In particular, the combined number of subscribers to the services of Kyivstar and Beeline (Ukrainian Radiosystems and Golden Telecom companies) made up 24.94 million, the number of MTS' subscribers made up 18.23 million, and Astelit company (life:) brand) 9.64 million. The rest of subscribers belong to the biggest telecommunications company Ukrtelecom and three CDMA operators. According to specified data, in September the number of subscribers of Ukrainian mobile-telephone operators made up 54.87 million.
