SITRONICS Information Technologies Widen Throughput Capacity of MTS’s CDMA Network

mtsSITRONICS Information Technologies on July has completed work on widening throughput capacity of a wireless third generation data transfer network CDMA2000 MTS’s CDMA network in the band range of 450 MHz of MTS Ukraine mobile communications operator, reads a join statement made by SITRONICS Information Technologies and MTS Ukraine.

In particular, SITRONICS Information Technologies added one radio controller to the operator’s network, having replaced part of elements of the network’s IP core with newer versions, and also mounted and commissioned equipment for expansion of several hundreds of base stations to 2x and 3x frequency channels.

The broadening of throughput capacity ensures technical basis for further increase in MTS traffic and development of internet access services.

MTS uses the CDMA network to render an internet access service, MTS Connect 3G.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, MTS in October 2007 deployed the wireless third generation data transfer network CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev in the band range of 450 MHz.

SITRONICS Information Technologies is a large provider of solutions, products and services in the sector of information technologies in Eastern Europe and the CIS.

MTS finished 2009 with a net profit of UAH 640.3 million. In 2009, the operator decreased its net revenues by 4.9% or UAH 421.5 million, comparing with 2008, to UAH 8,172.7 million.

Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) of Russia owns 100% of the shares in Ukrainian Mobile Communications.
