PrioCom system integrator (Kyiv) completed upgrading backbone transport network on the base of DWDM technology (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) of the Ukrainian Mobile Communications operator (MTS brand) on the Kyiv — Zhytomyr section, Ukrainian News has learned from a statement made by PrioCom.
Under the contract PrioCom specialists developed, designed and realized a complex solution for total modernization of the MTS network nodes in Kyiv and Zhytomyr, and also designed and installed a new nod on the Kyiv — Lviv line with relocation of optic communication channels to a new ground,
In course of the upgrade of the Kyiv node they replaced two reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers (ROADM) with one multiplexer with automatic commutation of optical channels (3 degree WXC) and preserving optical channels’ traffic.
A new 3 degree WXC node was integrated into the trunk network of Zhytomyr.
The DWDM backbone transport network of MTS was modernized on the base of Cisco ONS-15454 multiservice provisioning platform.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, MTS selected PrioCom to upgrade its backbone transport network on the base of DWDM in Kyiv and Zhytomyr.
PrioCom in November 2007 upgraded the IP network for MTS.
