The number of Ukrainian users of the Facebook internet social network has exceeded 1 million.
Socialbakers.com, a website that gathers and processes information about Facebook, announced this in a statement.
According to the data provided by socialbakers.com, the number of the Facebook users in Ukraine was 1.02 million as of January 10, and Ukraine had the 68th largest number of Facebook users out of the 213 countries on the list of countries with Facebook users.
According to the data, 45% of Facebook users in Ukraine are in the 18-24 age group, 33% are in the 25-34 age group, and 1% are over the age of 65.
Moreover, 50% of Ukrainian Facebook users are women and 50% are men.
The number of Ukrainian Facebook users has more than doubled in the past four months (from 500,000 in September 2010).

In particular, according to Dubynskyi, invitations to join the social network are sent to all the contacts in the instant messaging accounts of registered Facebook users (for example their Skype accounts).
“The more users join, the broader the circle of Ukrainians receiving such invitations, and the faster the number of Facebook users increases,” Dubynskyi said.
According to him, new users are also attracted by the innovative services of Facebook.
In addition, according to him, the “Social Network” movie, which is based on the creation of Facebook, has also facilitated popularization of this social network.
The Facebook social network was founded in February 2004. It presently has about 600 million users worldwide. According to the Facebook company, its revenues amounted to USD 700 million in 2009.
