The National Commission for Regulating Communications (NCRC) estimates the nominal value of frequency bands allocated for a tender for licenses for UMTS (3G) mobile communications at approximately UAH 890 million.
Volodymyr Smoliar, a member of the Communications Commission, announced this to the press.
“As for the nominal value of the whole band to be put up for sale, it will be approximately UAH 890 million. All in all 100 MHz,” he said.
He noted that the practical price of the band will depend on a number of factors, including the number of participants.
According to him, the NCRC has yet to define the terms of the tender and the number of lots.
Smoliar confirmed that the announcement of the tender can be in January 2011.
