MTS Increased Number Of Its Base Stations To 13,800 In 2010

telecomThe MTS Ukraine, the mobile telephone operator, launched operation of 245 base stations in 2010, thus increasing the total number of its base stations by 1.8% to 13,841.

The operator installed base stations in 72 population centers that were not previously covered by the MTS network.
The largest number of base stations was installed in the center of Ukraine — 35% of the total number, and in the north of Ukraine — 15% of the total number.

Kyiv region, Crimea, and Dnipropetrovsk region are the leaders in the number of installed stations — 27%, 9% and 8% respectively.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, MTS increased the number of its base stations by 4.6% to 13,600 in 2009.
Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) of Russia owns 100% of the shares in MTS Ukraine.
