life:) Stops Rendering Service of Saving and Sending of SMSes Through Web-Portal

lifeThe Astelit mobile communication operator that renders its services under life:) brand, has stopped provision of service of saving and sending of SMSes through web-portal from August 19, the operator said.

The Message Center service (Tsentr Soobschenii) allows a subscriber to create, send, obtain and save SMSes and MMSes, e-mail messages and voice commands, un.ua says.

Subscribers that will connect to Message Center service by August 19 inclusively will be able to use the service during thirty days after the last payment for it.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in January 2006, Astelit introduced the service of saving and sending of messages through web-portal.

The Astelit cellular mobile telephone company, which provides mobile telephone services under the life:) brand name, ended the second quarter of 2010 with EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) of USD 20.3 million.

Astelit reported a loss of USD 111.8 million for the year 2009, when its net revenues reduced by USD 87.6 million or 19.9% to USD 351.1 million compared with 2008.

The Turkcell company (Turkey) owns 54.8% of the shares in Astelit while the System Capital Management corporation (Donetsk) owns 45.2%.
