The Astelit cellular mobile telephone company, which provides mobile telephone services under the life:) brand, has doubled the tariff for its “Roaming Life:)” roaming service to UAH 10 per minute of telephone call in all countries except European countries, CIS countries (excluding Turkmenistan), Turkey, and Egypt from January 22.
The company announced this in a statement,
Previously, Astelit categorized countries into two zones for the “Roaming Life:)” service. The first zone consisted of European countries, Belarus, Turkey, and Egypt (outgoing and incoming calls in this zone was UAH 2.5 per minute) and the second zone consisted of all other countries (outgoing and incoming calls in this zone was UAH 5 per minute).
On January 22, the company will introduce a third zone for the “Roaming Life:)” roaming service, which will include all countries except European countries, CIS countries, Turkey, and Egypt. Outgoing and incoming calls in the third zone will be UAH 10 per minute.
SMS text messages in all the three zones will cost UAH 2.5.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Astelit launched operation of a border roaming lock in November 2009 to protect its subscribers against accidental connection to the telephone networks of foreign operators.
The Turkcell company (Turkey) owns 54.8% of the shares in Astelit while the System Capital Management corporation (Donetsk) owns 45.2%.
