Kyivstar: Possible Cancellation Of Connection Fees Inappropriate

kyivstarThe Kyivstar telecommunications operator considers the possible cancellation of the connection fee inappropriate.

The press service of Kyivstar announced this in a statement.

“We do not consider cancellation of the connection fee appropriate and necessary because the current principle for tariff formation that involves charging for connection does not violate the rights and lawful interests of our subscribers in any way,” Kyivstar said in the statement.

According to Kyivstar, the telecommunications market itself has determined the approach to the charging of fees and the method of interaction with subscribers for the past few years.

In addition, according to Kyivstar, charging of connection fees is legal and telecommunications companies in many countries in the European Union do it.

According to Kyivstar, there is a sufficiently huge choice of tariff plans on the mobile communications market, including tariff plans that charge connection fees and those than do not, to enable subscribers to choose the ones that are optimum for them.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, a new draft “Rules for Providing and Receiving Telecommunications Services” that the National Communications Regulation Commission approved on October 28 provides for prohibiting telecommunications operators from setting connection fees.
