Kyivstar offers not to kill the Beeline

Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar’s president Igor Litovchenko offered to keep alive both popular mobile brends after Kyivstar and The Ukrainian Radio Systems (ТМ Beeline) wоuld be merged into one company.

In mid-November Mr. Litovchenko plans to reveal his own strategy to the major share-holders – the Russian Altimo and the Norvegian Telenor as to their daughter companies in Ukraine.

As it was reported, 5-year conflict between Telenor and Altimo has resulted in merging of Ukrainian actives of these share-holders into the new company – VimpelCom. However, the deal will be effective only in case of approval by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

Mr.Litovchenko’s idea is to separate telecommunication businesses instead of creating the united one.

Next week Telenor and Altimo plan to submit all necessary documents to the Antimonopoly Committee for its further decision.
