Datagroup Agrees to Acquire Home-Net

datagroupThe Kyiv-based Datagroup telecommunication company has agreed on purchase of an Internet provider Home-Net (Kremenchuk, Poltava region).

A well-informed source told this to Ukrainian News.

The source gave no details of the acquisition.

The limited liability company Home-Net provides the services of access to the Internet in Kremenchuk.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv-based Datagroup telecommunication company on September 2 finalized a deal on purchase of the Internet provider Mainstream based in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Datagroup plans to develop a new trade mark in 2010 to step up sales of services of broadband access to the Internet and telephony to individual subscribers.

Datagroup telecommunications company (Kyiv) intends to invest USD 60 million in its development in 2011.

Datagroup was founded through merger of several telecommunications companies in the city of Kyiv and provinces.

Datagroup runs a nationwide DWDM fiber-optic data transfer network of 11,500 kilometers and an MPLS multimedia network built on its basis.

The MPLS network allows transmission of voice, data, and images to the end users — corporate and private subscribers.

The company is controlled by several individuals, including the founder of the company — Oleksandr Kardakov.

In August 2010, the Horizon Capital investment company acquired a minority shareholding in Datagroup for USD 40 million.
