Kyivstar Raises Mobile Internet Cost 16.7%The Kyivstar telecommunication operator (Kyiv) from April 11 raises the cost of mobile internet by 16.67% or UAH 1 and UAH 2 to UAH 6 and UAH 12 a Mb of data.
For the clients of prepaid and contract forms of servicing the cost of the 'Customary access to the internet network under the GPRS and EDGE technology' service one megabyte of data will cost UAH 6 (now UAH 5), for the 'WAP access to the internet network under the GPRS and EDGE technology' service one megabyte of data will cost UAH 12 (now UAH 10).
The statement also says that the cost of mobile internet for the clients changes in all the tariffs expect for: Economy, L, Internet 3G, Absolutely Unlimited (for contract-bound subscribers), Internet, Djuice Internet, Djuice Unlim + Music, Bomba, Health Resort (for prepaid service users).
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Kyivstar finished 2010 with a net profit of UAH 3.901 billion.
On October 5, 2009, Altimo (Russia) and Telenor (Norway) agreed to merge Kyivstar and VimpelCom to create a new cellular communications operator, VimpelCom Ltd. (Bermuda islands), to provide integrated cellular communications services in Russia, Ukraine, and other member-countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as in Georgia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
Kyivstar and Beeline intend to complete their merger by 2014.

Kyivstar Introduces Proryv Tariff For Djuice SubscribersFrom April 15, the Kyivstar telecommunication operator introduced a tariff plan called Proryv (Breakthrough) for Djuice subscribers.
The tariff envisions that the cost of outgoing calls to numbers of Kyivstar, Beeline and other mobile and fixed telephony numbers is UAH 0.95 per minute, SMS costs UAH 0.50 and an MMS costs UAH 1.
The connection fee is not introduced.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyivstar telecommunications operator and the Beeline mobile communications operator (the Ukrainian RadioSystems and Golden Telecom companies) ended the period of October-December 2010 with a net profit of UAH 514.1 million.

Kyivstar Introduces Services “Package 20 SMS” And Package 10 MMS”The Kyivstar telecommunication operator has introduced services "Package 20 SMS" and "Package 10 MMS" for subscribers of Beeline (the Ukrainian Radiosystems Company) from April 6.

ITC Introduces Four Voice Tariff PlansThe International Telecommunication Company, an operator of the fixed-line CDMA telephony services (ITC, CDMAUA brand) has introduced four voice tariff plans from April 1.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the operator.
In particular, the company offers its clients the Simple tariff plan with 1,000 minutes of calls to city numbers at 0 kopecks/minute and user fee of UAH 33/month. The cost of calls to numbers of mobile operators is UAH 0.70/minute.
The Rational tariff plan offers 3,500 minutes of calls to city numbers at 0 kopeck/minute for UAH 44/month. The cost of calls to numbers of mobile operators is UAH 0.60/minute.
The Unlimited tariff plan offers unlimited amount of minutes of calls to city numbers at 0 kopeck/minute for UAH 88/month. The cost of calls to numbers of mobile operators is UAH 0.50/minute.
The Unlimited VIP tariff plan offers unlimited amount of minutes of calls to city numbers at 0 kopeck/minute and 1,000 minutes of calls to mobile numbers for UAH 350/month.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the number of subscribers of the fixed-line CDMA telephony operator International Telecommunications Company (ITC), which provides services under CDMA-Ukraine brand, rose by 4% or 12,791 to 335,344 subscribers in the October — December 2010 period compared with the July — September 2010 period.
ITC, Ukraine-US joint venture, was founded in 1996.
The company provides local cellular communications and wireless Internet access services on the basis of the CDMA 2000 1x standard in the range of 800 megahertz.

PEOPLEnet Lowers Cost Of Calls To Mobile Operators’ Numbers By 18.8-21.4%TeleSystems of Ukraine, a company providing CDMA mobile communications services under the PEOPLEnet trademark, lowered cost of calls to number of mobile communication operator by 18.8-21.4% to UAH 0.55-0.65 per minute in three tariff plans from April 11.
In particular, in frames of the Mobile Mini tariff plan, the cost of calls to Ukrainian mobile communication operators was lowered by 18.8% or UAH 0.15 to UAH 0.65 per minute; Mobile Midi has now 20% cheaper calls cost lowered to UAH 0.60 per minute; and Mobile Maxi offers 21.4% cheaper calls, which now cost UAH 0.55 per minute.
At the same time, the operator lowered the number of package minutes for calls to number of mobile communication operators: by five minutes to 15 minutes within the Mobile Mini tariff plan, twice to 30 minutes within Mobile Midi, and twice to 60 minutes within Mobile Maxi.
Besides, in two tariff plans, PEOPLEnet lowered subscriber fee: by 10% or UAH 5 to UAH 45 per month in Mobile Midi and by 16.7% or UAH 15 to UAH 75 per month in Mobile Maxi.
The cost of calls to number of fixed telephony operators have been retained and is now UAH 0.50 per minute for Mobile Mini, UAH 45 per minute for Mobile Midi and UAH 0.40 per minute in Mobile Maxi.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the number of PEOPLEnet subscribers rose 8.2% or 45,956 to 608,433 in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Forton Limited (Dnipropetrovsk) owns 24.99% of shares in the company, Elidor limited liability company(Dnipropetrovsk) owns 24.99% too, Epilmor Business Corp. (Panama) holds 18.09%, Bracelos Properties Corp. (Panama) 18.09% as well, while Grosulo Investment S.A. (Panama) holds 13.8% of shares.

Ukrtelecom Introduces Four Tariff Plans “Business Internet” For Corporate Subscribers To Mobile InternetUkrtelecom, the largest telecommunication company in Ukraine, has introduced four tariff plans "Business Internet" for corporate subscribers to mobile Internet from March 15.
In the "Business Internet 1" tariff plan the company provides corporate subscribers with 1,024 Mb of Internet traffic within the network of Ukrtelecom and 40 Mb of traffic in the national roaming for UAH 40 a month.
In the "Business Internet 3" tariff plan the company provides corporate subscribers with 3,072 Mb of Internet traffic within the network of Ukrtelecom and 70 Mb of traffic in the national roaming for UAH 70 a month.
In the "Business Internet 10" tariff plan the company provides corporate subscribers with 10,240 Mb of Internet traffic within the network of Ukrtelecom and 5,120 Mb of traffic in the national roaming for UAH 120 a month.
Also, the company offers the Business Internet Premium tariff plan which includes unlimited Internet traffic within the network of Ukrtelecom and 10,240 Mb of traffic in the national roaming for UAH 480 a month.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukrtelecom ended 2010 with losses of UAH 258.757 million, having reduced net revenues by UAH 115.452 million or 1.68% to UAH 6,749.304 million compared with 2009.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine on March 11 sold 92.79% in Ukrtelecom to the ESU Company (Kyiv), a subsidiary of the Austrian Investment-Financial Consortium EPIC, for UAH 10.575 billion.

Mobile Communication Operators Favour Being Empowered To Provide Mobile PaymentsMobile communication operators are demanding right to provide mobile payments.
"To actively develop useful and convenient service of mobile payments in Ukraine, the state should introduce amendments into the legislation that regulates provision of telecommunication and financial services," press service of the Kyivstar telecommunication operator told the Ukrainian News agency.
Kyivstar said that current legislation allows mobile communication subscribers to pay only for telecommunication services using their mobile phones, but payments for services rendered by other organizations refer to financial services and require respective licensing.
Press service of the MTS Ukraine mobile communication operator also said that operators cannot independently hold mobile payments as they do not have legal right to that.
In its turn, press service of the Astelit mobile communication operator (the life:) brand) told the Ukrainian News agency that the company is analyzing situation in that sector and searching opportunity to provide the service in frames of current legislation.

Intertelecom Introduces SIP-Telephony Service For International CallsCDMA operator Intertelecom has introduced SIP-telephony service for international calls, director general of the company Borys Akulov told the press.
"In March, we introduced new service for our subscribers. SIP-telephony is Internet telephony with the database of 799,000 numbers and 8 million mobile numbers that allows our clients to use any number in any corner of the world," Akulov said.
He said that the service is available at any place where Internet is available.
He said that users pay only subscriber fee or payments for traffic excessive within the Internet plan.
Therefore, clients pay not for international calls but for intercity ones.
Akulov said that the service is suitable for businessmen and ordinary subscribers.
He said that Intertelecom renders services in over 4,000 settlements of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Intertelecom was the first nationwide CDMA operator in Ukraine. It provides local and mobile telephone services in the CDMA standard as well as wireless internet access.
Ukrainian citizen Viktor Hushan and Russian citizen Ilya Kazmaly founded Intertelecom.

PEOPLEnet Terminates 15 TariffsTeleSystems of Ukraine, a company providing CDMA mobile communications services under the PEOPLEnet trademark, terminates 15 tariffs from March 10, reads a statement made by the operator.
In particular, they will put out of action the following tariffs: Maximum of Traffic, Unlimited Internet, Business Package, Standard Internet, VPN Business, Maximum of Words, Free Internet 40, Convenient Unlimited 40, INET Unlimited, Сorpinet+Voice, Business Online XXL, Business Online, Low End, Online Life XXL and Online Life.
The tariffs are terminated since the operator switching over to a new system of billing the services it provides, as not much subscribers use these tariff plans.
PEOPLEnet offers subscribers of these tariffs to change their tariff plans for some other active ones, or on March 11 the operator will make the change in its discretion.

Swedish alternative telecommunication operator TELE2 plans to enter UkraineEurope’s leading alternative telecommunication operator TELE2 considers possibility to expand the geography of its business to several countries, including Ukraine, the company reported on March 17.
The plans to expand the geography of business include Ukraine, Albania, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Georgia and Slovenia. The company intends to expand its existing business in the territory of Russia.
TELE 2 plans to use its financial capabilities at a low level of accounts payable to access the markets of these countries. The company aims to acquire licenses or companies, focusing on low-cost enterprises.
