Antimonopoly Committee Permits Cyprus’ Lorimer Ventures Buy More than 25% of Datagroup Holding

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine permitted Lorimer Ventures to buy more than 25% of shares in Datagroup Holding (both based in Cyprus), reads a statement made by the Committee.

Lorimer Ventures is affiliated with the Horizon Capital private equity firm.

Datagroup Holding is the majoritarian shareholder of the Datagroup closed joint-stock company (Kyiv).

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Horizon Capital in August acquired a minority stockholding in the Datagroup telecommunication company for USD 40 million.

But both sides did not disclose the exact size of the stockholding sold.

Datagroup was created through the merger of several telecommunications companies in Kyiv and Ukrainian regions.

The company is controlled by several individuals, including the founder of the company — Oleksandr Kardakov.

Horizon Capital is a company with foreign capital registered in Ukraine to manage direct investment funds, invest in businesses with the mid-size level of capitalisation, great growth potential and profitability in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus.
