AMC Institutes Proceedings against Ukrtelecom for Unfair Competition in Ternopil Region

Ternopil regional department of the Anti-Monopoly Committee (AMC) has instituted proceedings against Ternopil regional branch of Ukrtelecom, large telecommunications company, for unfair competition in displaying misleading advertisements across Ternopil region.

As found out, the telecommunications operator has advertised High-Speed Access OGO Internet for UAH 1 in phone bills.
However, it did not mention the promotion was applied to regional centers only. Investigation into the case is underway.

As Ukrainian News reported, telephone companies appealed to the Anti-Monopoly Committee in December for recognizing Ukrtelecom as monopolist in the cable communications market.
